This interesting and informative program recounts some of the most important historical and political events of the early chiropractic period and demonstrates how these events have shaped the profession’s practice and political landscape to the present.

In 1907, La Crosse, Wisconsin chiropractor and Palmer School graduate Shegataro Morikubo was arrested and charged with practicing medicine, surgery, and osteopathy without a license. The two-day trial would result in an acquittal and would be a landmark victory for the chiropractic profession. The Morikubo trial marked the beginnings of chiropractic legal strategies that were used for decades to acquit chiropractors of the charges of practicing medicine without a license. However, the Morikubo case was not the first to be tried in La Crosse; events leading to the 1907 trial are chronicled.
